Haïti: un accident impliquant un char du carnaval fait 18 morts à Port-au-Prince

Quelque 18 personnes ont trouvé la mort mardi à Port-au-Prince alors qu'elles participaient au carnaval. Un char a heurté une ligne à haute tension puis a pris feu. En plus des victimes, l'incident a fait une soixantaine de blessés.

Au moins dix-huit personnes ont été tuées et 60 blessées mardi matin lorsqu'un char du carnaval de Port-au-Prince a touché une ligne à haute tension lors de la deuxième journée des festivités dans la capitale haïtienne. Le char a pris feu après avoir touché un câble électrique aérien, ont rapporté des témoins.

Sept personnes qui se trouvaient sur le char ont été tuées. D'autres ont trouvé la mort dans le mouvement de panique qui a suivi. Dans un message sur Twitter, le président Michel Martelly a adressé "ses sincères condoléances" aux victimes.
