Je comprends tout à fait votre position au vu du reportage effectué par la Télévision Suisse Romande qui était malheureusement plus orienté «propagande» qu'information.
Si la maquette montrée dans ce reportage correspond effectivement au projet, le journalise s'est bien gardé de parler de l'emplacement de ce nouvel établissement, préférant apparemment le sensationnalisme à une information objective. Cet hôtel sera construit à plus de 500 mètres du vieux village de Grimentz, aux abords de la route qui monte à Moiry, dans une zone presque invisible du village. Il est évident que personne n'aurait accepté de défigurer le village de Grimentz et ce projet n'aura absolument aucune incidence sur la préservation de ce village authentique, l'architecture de cet hôtel est justement pensée pour qu'il s'intègre au mieux à la topographie du lieu.
Notre destination se démarque en effet par son côté authentique, mais elle doit également son attractivité à un certain développement nécessaire à notre survie. Les exemples de nos voisins qui ont tout misé sur l'authenticité en limitant au maximum le développement d'infrastructures démontre que ce type de tourisme n'est malheureusement pas suffisamment attractif pour permettre à la population locale de survivre et la majeure partie de leurs habitants sont contraints de travailler en plaine … ou dans d'autres stations. Notre positionnement est plus réaliste, acceptant un développement nécessaire à notre survie (telles les remontées mécaniques, les immeubles des Lona, … qui ne sont pas des modèles d'intégration, mais qui ont permis à Grimentz de ne pas mourir) tout en préservant l'attractivité d'un village unique. Bien entendu, aucune solution n'est parfaite et ce projet peut être critiqué, mais son développement et son implantation ont été réfléchis et ne sont pas le fruit de spéculateurs sans vergogne, malgré ce que certains journalistes peu professionnels peuvent laisser penser.
Quant au type d'hôtel, un 4 étoiles (et non 5), il correspond à une demande de plus en plus forte de notre clientèle qu'il nous est nécessaire de contenter. Pour rappel, l'hôtel qui fonctionne le mieux en Anniviers est l'Hôtel Bella Tola qui est un 4 étoiles. Le choix d'un hôtel design correspond également à une tendance qu'il est nécessaire de ne pas ignorer, à savoir une clientèle aisée qui vient pour profiter de l'authenticité dans sa partie «visite et loisirs», mais qui demande un hébergement moderne et répondant aux standards actuels que les petits hôtels existant actuellement ne peuvent offrir. La réalisation de cet hôtel sera également un input nécessaire à la réalisation du projet des bains qui a besoin d'une offre de logements diversifiée pour pouvoir se réaliser sans risquer un manque de fréquentation. Il est cependant évident que ce type d'hôtel ne deviendra pas la norme en Anniviers.
Comme natif de cette vallée qui m'a vu grandir, je suis le premier à souhaiter la préserver. Je suis également le premier à souhaiter que mes enfants puissent continuer à vivre en Anniviers et si personne avant nous n'avait eu d'audace, cette vallée ne compterait aujourd'hui plus que quelques paysans et serait assurément beaucoup moins attractive pour nos hôte. Je suis persuadé que la majeure partie de nos hôtes ne viendrait pas à Grimentz si aucune remontée mécanique n'existait et s'ils devaient régulièrement se rendre à Sierre par une route à peine entretenue parce qu'aucun commerce ne pourrait survivre. Les personnes qui ont créé les remontées mécaniques ont reçu nombre de critiques et de menaces au moment de réaliser leurs projets … mais nous les remercions aujourd'hui pour ceux qu'ils ont développés et qui nous permettent de vivre dans notre vallée.
Vous évoquez avec raison la prise en compte de l'évolution du tourisme en Valais, il est cependant nécessaire d'évoquer le tourisme au niveau mondial tant le développement de cette branche est rapide et la concurrence à considérer au niveau international. Ayant pris en compte tous les aspects de ce projet, je considère qu'il sera positif pour notre vallée et pour notre tourisme, malgré certains aspects évidemment négatifs inhérents à tout type de développement et j'ai cet avis malgré que je sois sorti de ma vallée et que j'aie visité une quarantaine de pays sur les cinq continents.
Encore une fois, je comprends votre position et je respecte votre avis. J'espère néanmoins que les points que j'évoque dans cet email vous permettront de vous faire un avis objectif et je reste à votre disposition pour en discuter avec vous si vous le souhaitez.
